Frequently Asked Questions

Who should read Truancy?

While students might appreciate some of the themes more, Truancy is solid entertainment that can be enjoyed by anyone.

Was it hard to write?

Probably.

Are there more books coming?

The second book in the series has already been written, but no deal has been signed yet. If the first book does well, there will definitely be more.

I love this book. How can I join you guys?

If the book resonates with you, you are already one of us. You can share your thoughts with other Truants on our forums.

I hate this book. How can I express my hatred?

Send us an email or post a scathing review on our forums.

If I send in an email, will I get a reply?

While it may not be possible to reply to every single email, we will do our best.

Do you claim to represent students in general?

Not at all. The mistake that educators too often make is seeing and treating students as a faceless herd. We acknowledge that students are individuals, too varied and diverse to generalize. We speak only for ourselves, and the individuals who agree with us.

What do you think of violence among students?

Students are all in the same boat together, regardless of their differences. It is terrible to see students fight and divide each other rather than uniting.

What about teachers?

The history of our society has shown that violence is counterproductive more often than not. If an injustice has been done in school we encourage vocal, disruptive, but nonviolent protest.

Who coded this website?

Harrison Wong, a senior at Stuyvesant High School and fellow Truant at heart.
